BERKELEY, Calif. - Experts on cellphone and brain tumor science say they're disappointed some media outlets downplayed last week's government study that found a small but significant percentage of rats exposed to lifelong cellphone radiation developed cancerous or precancerous cells.

The $25 million study from the National Toxicology Program prompted a skeptical New York Times video, saying overall brain tumor rates have not skyrocketed along with cellphone use.

But Louis Slesin, editor of Microwave News, notes a major Times shareholder is a global wireless magnate.

He points to a USC report that said the same types of tumors rats developed in this study have increased in humans. Slesin says he's glad to see other influential groups changing their stance.

"The American Cancer Society and Consumer Reports, which have been deeply skeptical for the last 15 years, have done a 180," he says. "And now, they're saying that this is a paradigm shift that needs to be taken seriously, and we need to do more."

"The plans may well be met with fury from the public in Britain.  A constant stream of protests have been seen in the country in the last ten years as the number of mobile phone masts increases.  In 2003, mobile phone masts were torn down in Wishaw and Dudley in the West Midlands, Crosby in Merseyside and Tiverton in Devon, as well as in Northern Ireland. They are viewed by some as bad for public health over the radiation they emit."

BRITONS should prepare for a huge new network of mobile phone masts across the country so future generations can benefit from 'world changing' wireless broadband technology.
The head of the National Infrastructure Commission said Britain faces an 'enormous challenge' in preparing for the introduction of a new 5G network.

Lord Adonis said the country will need an increase in mobile phone transmitters to deliver the next generation of services.

Despite the UK only just settling into 4G, the next generation of high speed internet access 5G, will be unveiled in South Korea in 2018 to coincide with the Winter Olympics.

Cellphone Radiation Linked to Cancer in Major Rat Study

Kenneth R. Foster, a bioengineering professor at the University of Pennsylvania expects more governments will put out cautionary guidelines and radiation labeling for cellphones. He says he wouldn’t be surprised if the IARC ups its classification rating from 2B: possibly carcinogenic to humans to 2A: probably carcinogenic to humans. “And they wouldn’t be out of line in doing that,” he says. “This is going to change the rhetoric in the field. People can point to much more hard evidence that [cellphone RF exposure] really is a problem.”

Results of the largest, most expensive animal study on the link between cellphones and cancer are in. And the link is positive—weak, but positive.

The much-anticipated two-year study led by the National Toxicology Program (NTP) has found low incidences of brain and heart tumors in male rats that were exposed to the radio frequency radiation commonly emitted by cellphones.

Exposed rats had higher rates of two malignant cancers: glioma of the brain and schwannoma of the nerves in the heart. But none of the unexposed control rats developed them. And these brain and heart tumors are similar to the ones found in previous epidemiological studies of cellphone use, the NTP report states, so “these findings appear to support the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) conclusions regarding the possible carcinogenic potential of” radiofrequency radiation.

Canada: Comment on New Computer System at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital

"Nurses and doctors have less of a holistic appreciation of their patients and their illnesses because of the disjointed complexity of the electronic record rather than the simple navigability of the previous paper record and charting."

Comment: New computer system a detriment to health care
by Dr. Winston Smith, Times Colonist,
27 May 2016

One health record. Making care delivery easier for health-care providers. Safer health care. These are the claims Island Health has made publicly for its new electronic health-record system iHealth, introduced initially at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital in March and intended to roll out across Vancouver Island in the coming months.

These are goals physicians share — many of whom enthusiastically use electronic records in their clinics. Despite “bumps in the road,” Island Health claims the implementation of the system is going well.

But these claims are untrue. iHealth does not provide a single health record: It offers no less disjointed and poorly accessible a collection of patient information in differing programs and sites than the previous system.

The system is cumbersome, inefficient, not intuitive — and not simply because it is a new system, but because of its very nature. It’s like trying to make a DOS-based computer work like an Apple or Windows-based system: You can perform many of the same functions, but it is slow, takes multiple steps and is inefficient.

Canada: Nanaimo Doctors Say Electronic Health Record System Unsafe, Should Be Shut Down

"Nine weeks after startup, physicians in the Nanaimo hospital’s intensive-care and emergency departments reverted to pen and paper on Wednesday 'out of concern for patient safety.'   "Doctors said the system is flawed — generating wrong dosages for the most dangerous of drugs, diminishing time for patient consultation and losing critical information and orders."

Implementation of a $174-million Island-wide electronic health record system in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital — set to expand to Victoria by late 2017 — is a huge failure, say senior physicians.

After a year of testing, the new paperless iHealth system rolled out in Nanaimo on March 19. Island Health heralds the system as the first in the province to connect all acute-care and diagnostic services through one electronic patient medical record, the first fully integrated electronic chart in the province.

How to Stop Your Cell Phone from Killing You

"Younger cell phone users are likely to be exposed to more RF radiation over their lifetime than older people."

How to Stop Your Cell Phone from Killing You
by Samantha Allen, The Daily Beast,
27 May 2016

An unprecedented $25 million study links cell phone radiation and cancer in rats. Before you throw away your phone, here are the safety measures you should take.

After Thursday’s study, Dr. Irwin Redlener prefers to be interviewed by speakerphone.

There have been warnings before about a possible link between cell phones and cancer but none quite so clear as this: a $25-million study conducted by the U.S. National Toxicology Program (NTP), which found that male rats exposed to radiofrequency (RF) radiation developed “malignant gliomas in the brain and schwannomas in the heart” (PDF).

In other words: cell phone radiation gave them tumors.

When he heard the news, Dr. Redlener, a professor of Health Policy and Management in the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, started drafting an email to his grandchildren. Then he decided to include some colleagues, too.
His advice? Until we know more, keep the handset away from your head as much as possible.

“This is a new wake-up call about the possible risks of cell phone use,” he told The Daily Beast.

The Plan to Ban Work Emails Out of Hours

The French government says the problem of permanent connection is universal and growing - and that intervention is needed.

The plan to ban work emails out of hours

by Hugh Schofield, BBC News, Paris,
11 May 2016

Should governments step in to regulate work emails and so rescue harassed staff from the perils of digital burnout? The answer in France appears to be "Yes". President Francois Hollande's Socialist Party is about to vote through a measure that will give employees for the first time a "right to disconnect".

Companies of more than 50 people will be obliged to draw up a charter of good conduct, setting out the hours - normally in the evening and at the weekend - when staff are not supposed to send or answer emails.

Much mockery was made in the foreign press when the proposal was first mooted, with images of hawk-eyed work inspectors snooping on the industrious.

But the French government says the problem of permanent connection is universal and growing - and that intervention is needed.

"All the studies show there is far more work-related stress today than there used to be, and that the stress is constant," Socialist MP Benoit Hamon tells me.

Smart Tampon? The Internet of Every Single Thing Must Be Stopped

"Many of these overpriced newcomers aim to solve problems that aren’t really problems." [And, of course, no mention of the he biological harm from microwaves used in wireless, connected technologies - but this article was published just before the NTP study results were released.]

Smart Tampon?  The Internet of Every Single Thing Must Be Stopped
by Joanna Stern, The Wall Street Journal,

Not every object should connect to our smartphones—and if it does, it should at least work

Let’s play a game. Which of the following is a real smartphone-connected product?

A) A bottle that tracks your H2O intake
B) A bowl that tracks your dog’s H2O intake
C) An umbrella that reminds you not to leave it behind
D) A tampon that reminds you when it is time for a change

It is actually a trick question. All four of these “smart” items have either been announced by startups or are already shipping.

Technology has made our lives easier and solved some incredible problems, but a connected egg tray that reminds you to buy more? Come on. A subset of startups inventing the “world’s first connected [insert any noun here]” believe everything goes better with Bluetooth.

Blame the falling price of parts, the popularity of crowdfunding sites or the flood of cash into the tech industry. But if an object has room for a chip and a battery, some entrepreneur is trying to shove them in—and replace common sense with an app alert. The high water mark was reached last week, when startup MyFlow announced the smart tampon.

Who Cares If Cellphones Might Cause Cancer? They Are Already Horrible

Who cares if cellphones might cause cancer? They’re already the worst.
by Lance Ulanoff, Mashable,
28 May 2016

Cellphones probably don’t cause cancer, but even if they did, there’s ample proof you wouldn’t stop using them.

It’s worth remembering this as we face some pretty startling news: Cellphones might, under certain circumstances, increase the risk of some types of cancer in certain male rats. At least, that's what one new study tells us.

The study is far from conclusive. Similarly exposed female rats did not grow tumors. And the results of another part of the study, about a group of mice who also lived through many hours of cellphone radiation, are not out yet.

No matter what the findings, this study simply can’t turn cellphones into a bad thing. It can’t because cellphones are already horrible.

High Radiation Found in Westhampton Library

"The library has no materials whatever on the dangers of pulsed microwave radiation. The Library of Paris, biggest in France, removed all Wi-Fi from its buildings in 2008. This was sought by the library staff since it was enduring the radiation throughout the day."

High Radiation Found in Westhampton Library

by Jack O'Dwyer, odwyerpr.com, 28 May 2016

Rooms at the Westhampton, N.Y. library used by children and seniors touched off high microwave readings on an Acoustimeter.

This reporter yesterday toured the two floors of the library and found peak readings of six volts per meter in the first floor room used once a month by the library board, weekly by a bridge group, and which is used for many other purposes.

A reading of six volts, highest possible on the meter, was found in the rom. It is what would be found near a cell tower, says the user manual of EMFields Solutions.

Those with electro-magnetic sensitivity experience “adverse health effects” if volts per meter exceed .30, says EMF Fields.

Also high in the board meeting room were average microwatts per square meter which were in the 2,500 to 5,000 range.

Bioinitiative in 2007 set 1,000 as the maximum allowable in a public area but in 2012 lowered this to 5 meaning it thought just about any constant pulsed microwave radiation background in a public place was unacceptable.

Questions abound after study links tumors to cellphone radiation
by Warren Cornwall, Science, 27 May. 2016

Male rats exposed to cellphone radiation in a large U.S. government study were more likely to develop rare brain and heart cancers, a preliminary analysis has found, adding weight to concerns the ubiquitous devices could pose a health risk to people.

But though the study is the most comprehensive yet of lab animals exposed to cellphone radiation, researchers say it’s far from conclusive. And the findings pose a number of puzzles. It’s not clear why cancer rates rose in male but not female rats, for instance, or why rats exposed to cellphone radiation lived, on average, longer than radiation-free rats. The study also does not pinpoint a biological mechanism that would account for the findings. And, as usual, it comes with the caveat that studies of rodents can mean little for humans.

The findings, posted on the bioRxiv preprint server late on 26 May by the National Toxicology Program (NTP), a multiagency research effort, have already begun rippling through scientific and political circles, triggering calls for additional research and, potentially, additional warnings about cellphone use.

National Toxicology Program Finds Cell Phone Radiation Causes Cancer

UPDATE (31 May 2016):
SPIN vs FACT: National Toxicology Program report on cancer risk from cellphone radiation

The National Toxicology Program (NTP) of the National Institutes of Health reported partial findings from their $25 million study of the cancer risk from cellphone radiofrequency radiation (RFR). Controlled studies of rats showed that RFR caused two types of tumors, glioma and schwannoma. The results “…could have broad implications for public health.”

A factsheet on the NTP study that summarizes some biased statements, or “Spin,” about the study that tend to create doubt about data quality and implications, as well as “Facts” from decades of previous research is available at http://bit.ly/NTPspinfacts.

"The researchers believe that the cancers found in this experimental study were caused by the exposure to cell phone radiation as none of the control animals developed cancer.  The researchers controlled the temperature of the animals to prevent heating effects so the cancers were caused by a non-thermal mechanism."

$25 million study from the National Institutes of Health looked at brain tumors in animals

The National Toxicology Program (NTP), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has found a link between the type of radiation emitted by cell phones and cancer in rats. The project has been underway for more than a decade, and with a $25 million price tag, is the most expensive ever undertaken by the program.

The study involved more than 2,500 rodents, exposed to the same type of radiation found in cell phones, at the same frequencies, for nine hours everyday, for two years.

Multiyear, peer-reviewed study found ‘low incidences’ of two types of tumors in male rats exposed to type of radio frequencies commonly emitted by cellphones

A major U.S. government study on rats has found a link between cellphones and cancer, an explosive finding in the long-running debate about whether mobile phones cause health effects.

The multiyear, peer-reviewed study, by the National Toxicology Program, found “low incidences” of two types of tumors in male rats that were exposed to the type of radio frequencies that are commonly emitted by cellphones. The tumors were gliomas, which are in the glial cells of the brain, and schwannomas of the heart.

Breaking News – Cell Phones and Brain Tumors – Leaked Insight from the U.S. National Toxicology Program?
Dr. Vini Khurana, C.N.S. Neurosurgery (Australia), 26 May 2016

In 2008, I self-published a review paper on-line, clearly expressing my concerns regarding mobile phones and brain tumors (Reference 1, below). That paper caused an international stir and I and others eventually discussed our thoughts on this topic with Larry King, as communicated by Tara Parker-Pope in the New York Times (Reference 2, below).

Dr Lennart Hardell, however, was one of the pioneers of this field, and I was fortunate enough to have published a peer-reviewed meta-analysis and literature review with him in 2009 (Reference 6, below). Essentially, our paper reported that 10 or more years of cell phone use was associated with a statistically significant increase in ipsilateral (same side of head) GLIOMAs and SCHWANNOMAs (acoustic neuromas) in those long-term cell phone users.

I continued to work on the area for the next few years (References 3-10, below), and in December 2013, I testified in the Superior Court of Washington D.C. in a weighty court case that is still being litigated in that honorable forum.

And now this:

Louis Slesin PhD, the well respected, dedicated and longstanding Editor of Microwave News, published the following on 25 May 2016:

It's the moment we've all been dreading.

Initial findings from a massive federal study, released on Thursday, suggest that radio-frequency (RF) radiation, the type emitted by cellphones, can cause cancer.

The findings from a $25 million study, conducted over two-and-a-half years by the National Toxicology Program (NTP), showed that male rats exposed to two types of RF radiation were significantly more likely than unexposed rats to develop a type of brain cancer called a glioma, and also had a higher chance of developing the rare, malignant form of tumor known as a schwannoma of the heart.

The radiation level the rats received was "not very different" from what humans are exposed to when they use cell phones, said Chris Portier, former associate director of the NTP, who commissioned the study.

As the intensity of the radiation increased, so did the incidence of cancer in the rats. (The highest radiation level was five to seven times as strong as what humans typically receive while using a phone.) Although ionizing radiation, which includes gamma rays and x-rays, is a widely accepted as a carcinogen, the wireless industry has long noted that there is no known mechanism by which RF radiation causes cancer. The researchers wrote that the results "appear to support" the conclusion that RF radiation may indeed be carcinogenic.

United States: National Toxicology Program Releases Draft Cancer Report

From Abstract of draft report:  "The US National Toxicology Program (NTP) has carried out extensive rodent toxicology and carcinogenesis studies of radiofrequency radiation (RFR) at frequencies and modulations used in the US telecommunications industry. This report presents partial findings from these studies. The occurrences of two tumor types in male Harlan Sprague Dawley rats exposed to RFR, malignant gliomas in the brain and schwannomas of the heart, were considered of particular interest, and are the subject of this report."  [Abstract is below, with access to draft report in full.]

Introduction to the paper by Cecelia Doucette

Dear EMF Stakeholders,

I have had the privilege of reviewing the attached document, Root Cause in the Dramatic Rise of Chronic Disease. The author, Rich Lear, specializes in pattern recognition. He has mined our U.S. government databases and identified 40 diseases that have more than doubled since 1990, some exponentially. As many have already concluded they cannot be primarily genetic since we have not gone cradle-to-grave with even one generation in that time span so the cause must be environmental toxins.

Study Shows Shocking Consequences Of Childhood ‘Screen Time’

"Some kids’ behaviors may lead parents to look to doctors for answers, which could result in a mental health diagnosis of ADHD, bipolar disorder, or major depression. Do you have a chronically irritated child? If your child or teen spends a lot of time on interactive devices such as iPads, tablets, or cell phones and seems to be angry, depressed, and unmotivated a lot of the time, the devices may be to blame.

According to Dr. Victoria Dunckley in her article titled “Screentime Is Making Kids Moody, Crazy, and Lazy,” abnormally high arousal caused by use of interactive screen time is creating kids and teens who seem “revved up” and prone to rages and/or to being depressed and unmotivated.

NBC News Report: Your Children Will Be Microchipped "Sooner Rather than Later"

NBC: Your Children Will Be Microchipped “SOONER RATHER THAN LATER”
by Erin Elizabeth, healthnutnews.com,
25 May 2016

Just last week, an NBC News report aired touting the benefits of microchipping children and stating that it would happen “sooner rather than later”. Sadly, many Americans will accept the process as something normal and follow right along. However, the idea sounds simply preposterous to me. I think most moms reading this would agree- they don’t want their children microchipped.

The NBC report goes on to detail a mother of three, Steffany Rodroguez-Neely, who briefly lost her daughter after she hid behind a rack of clothes (something I’ve heard from friends is terrifying but totally normal). Reacting out of fear, she now believes, “If it’ll save my kid, there’s no stuff that’s too extreme. Micro-chipping would be an extra layer of protection, if something bad does happen,” according to Info Wars.

U.S. NTP Study: Social Media Buzz: A Pessimist's Preview

Social media buzz about the US NTP study: A pessimists pre-view…
by Dariusz Leszczynski, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, 26 May 2016

Yesterday, story published by the known-to-be-well-informed Microwave News made social media abuzz. My past experience tells me, however, to put the predictions on hold… because the spin doctors are at work. This is not any “conspiracy theory”, this is a fact of life. Huge telecom industry has certainly put lobbyists and associated scientists to work diligently to prevent possible damage to the business. This is their job, this is their business and they would be irresponsible if they did not do it. Anyone believing in the self-policing of the industry for the good of the peoples’ health is absolutely naïve, and there are numerous examples to show it.

Few important points, before jumping into premature conclusions:

The scientific results of the NTP study were not published yet, neither as a report nor as peer-reviewed articles. The results were seen only by a selected few and any opinions are, at this point, just hearsay. Therefore, it is not possible to reliably discuss the quality of the research and meaning of it in the context of the to date published animal studies and other research. This context, by the sheer numbers and by the misleading use of the “weight of evidence” term, is disadvantageous for the NTP study.

U.S. Government Expected To Advise Public of Health Risk

The cell phone cancer controversy will never be the same again.

The U.S. National Toxicology Program (NTP) is expected to issue a public announcement that cell phone radiation presents a cancer risk for humans. The move comes soon after its recently completed study showed statistically significant increases in cancer among rats that had been exposed to GSM or CDMA signals for two-years.

Discussions are currently underway among federal agencies on how to inform the public about the new findings. NTP senior managers believe that these results should be released as soon as possible because just about everyone is exposed to wireless radiation all the time and therefore everyone is potentially at risk.

Glyphosate, the most used herbicide in the World, has been found in the urine of 93% of the American public during a unique testing project that started in 2015.

Glyphosate, labeled a ‘Probable human carcinogen’ by the World Health Organization’s cancer agency IARC in 2015, has now been revealed to be ubiquitous in the first ever comprehensive and validated LC/MS/MS testing project to be carried out across America.

The European Union is currently in the process of putting restrictions on the use of glyphosate due to health concerns, with Member States so far unable to agree on the re-approval of the chemical beyond June 2016.

Glyphosate-containing herbicides are sold under trademarks such as Monsanto’s ‘Roundup’.

Conclusion:  "...Emerging evidence shows that contact with the Earth—whether being outside barefoot or indoors connected to grounded conductive systems—may be a simple, natural, and yet profoundly effective environmental strategy against chronic stress, ANS dysfunction, inflammation, pain, poor sleep, disturbed HRV, hypercoagulable blood, and many common health disorders, including cardiovascular disease. The research done to date supports the concept that grounding or earthing the human body may be an essential element in the health equation along with sunshine, clean air and water, nutritious food, and physical activity."

Environmental medicine generally addresses environmental factors with a negative impact on human health. However, emerging scientific research has revealed a surprisingly positive and overlooked environmental factor on health: direct physical contact with the vast supply of electrons on the surface of the Earth. Modern lifestyle separates humans from such contact. The research suggests that this disconnect may be a major contributor to physiological dysfunction and unwellness.

Since 2005, there have been 24,000 casualties on Tasmanian roads, including 3,500 deaths or serious injuries.

The Road Safety Advisory Council (RSAC) has released detailed crash statistics, with ideas on how to reduce the toll as it prepares a new 10-year strategy.

One of the more radical options being considered is blocking mobile phone signals in moving cars.

The council's Jim Cox said he had no doubt that would occur.

"I believe there's one in America, they've actually started a program whereby you put the app into your phone and it does actually turn off when you get into the vehicle," he said.

Stopping the Cure: Why Cancer Research isn’t Focused On the True Cause of Cancer

Stopping the Cure: Why Cancer Research isn’t Focused On the True Cause of Cancer
by Tony Isaacs, thetruthaboutcancer.com,

Since the war on cancer was declared half a century ago, hundreds of billions of dollars have been poured into cancer research. However, despite annual pronouncements of cures and breakthroughs that are just around the corner, all that research has failed to keep the incidence of cancer from continuing to increase. Most of the small reductions in cancer deaths are due mostly to earlier detection which increases five year survival rates – the yardstick conventional medicine uses to determine success.

There is a very good explanation for why cancer research has failed so badly…

Amid Health, Privacy Fears, States Are Letting People Reject 'Smart Meters'

Amid Health, Privacy Fears, States Are Letting People Reject 'Smart Meters'

Shortly after Joe Davidson moved into his Cincinnati apartment, he noticed his joints were achy and he wasn’t sleeping well. Then he needed two root canals.

Davidson is among a small but outspoken group of people who say the radio frequencies coming from so-called smart meters installed in their homes are making them sick. The wireless devices — designed to measure gas and electricity consumption and help consumers save money — have other critics, such as privacy advocates who argue they could violate customers’ privacy and consumer advocates who complain they could lead to higher utility bills.

Driven by these concerns, legislators in several states have moved to give consumers options when it comes to installing smart meters in their homes.

According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, at least 15 states allow customers to opt out of smart meter installation, although many permit utility companies to impose a fee on customers who don’t want the meters.

Chemtrails: Are Jet Planes Really Secretly Spraying Chemicals to Reverse Climate Change?

CHEMTRAILS: Are jet planes REALLY secretly spraying chemicals to REVERSE climate change?
by Jon Austin, express.co.uk, 22 May 2016

MILLIONS of people are convinced a secret global conspiracy is taking place in front of our eyes on a DAILY basis.

The Chemtrails conspiracy theory is one of the most supported on Earth and counted the late pop legend Prince among its high-profile advocates.

At its most bizarre extreme, conspiracy theorists believe that the contrails which form behind jet aircraft are actually streams of toxic “mind-control” chemicals, which dilute before they reach the ground, leaving a gas we breathe in that keeps the general population in check.

But there are a growing number of chemtrail believers, who claim the conspiracy is actually a secret global plot to change Earth’s climate in the hope it will reverse the effects of climate change.

Even former politicians in the UK are beginning to express concerns.

Effect the Cell Towers Have Had on My Son
From A California Mother in the USA received July 2015

My son developed anxiety, OCD, insomnia, irrational fears, various neurological problems, personality changes immediately after the upgrade of an AT&T cell tower next to his school to 4G LTE technology, which was completed in June 2013. I didn’t even know there were cell towers next to his school until March 2015 because these cell towers were camouflaged as ball field light poles. India: Two Women Climb Cell Phone Tower, Demand Its Removal

2 women climb cell phone tower, demand its removal
by Express News Service,
18 May 2016

It was their grit and determination that startled every onlooker and even the police.

Two mothers in their 30's, climbed up a 40-50 feet tall cell phone tower Wednesday morning and stood to their ground till evening without having a proper meal or enough water to drink till late in the evening, with a sole objective.

They want the cell phone tower to be removed from their neighbourhood and nothing less than that.

The incident took place in B-section of Addagutta basti which is one of the largest slums in the country. The cell phone tower was installed on top of a three-storeyed building in the locality about a month ago and the agitation against the same has been on since then.

About 15 days back, the house owner, according to the dwellers there, had promised to remove the tower on request of the residents of the colony. However, they say that nothing has been done and tower is set to be operationalised in the coming days.

BPA's Lasting Effects on Kids May Start in the Womb

A new study tracked what happened to girls' obesity rates when their moms were exposed to the chemical while pregnant.

The US childhood obesity rate remains high and is probably still inching upward. A new study points to a possible contributing factor that's often neglected: prenatal exposure to bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical widely used in plastic water bottles, metal food cans, and receipt paper.

A team of researchers from Columbia University, Johns Hopkins, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tracked 369 mother-child pairs from the third trimester of pregnancy until the kids turned seven years old. They measured BPA levels in the moms' urine during pregnancy and then checked the kids' height, weight, waist circumference, and body fat as they aged, also measuring their BPA levels. They adjusted the results for factors that could potentially skew the results, including race and pre-pregnancy obesity among the moms.

United States: Outdated FCC "Safety" Standards

Outdated FCC “Safety” Standards
Environmental Health Trust - ehtrust.org

When these guidelines were developed, a cell phone was the size of a brick and there was no Wi-Fi at the coffee shop. Times have changed. The laws have not.

Fact: There Are No Safety Standards

Currently there are no national or international “standards” for safe levels of the radiation emitted by wireless or microwave devices. Instead, the US government adopted “guidelines” developed by industry based on decades old research. Guidelines have a much lower certainty than a “standard” as proper long term safety testing was not done to ensure the public was protected from all possible harm.

In fact, no “safe” level has been scientifically determined for children or pregnant women. Therefore, the claim that a device “meets government standards” or that radiation levels are “FCC compliant” gives a false impression of safety.

The FCC guidelines rest on five fallacies (false assumptions) and therefore renders FCC guidelines obsolete. Compliance with “federal safety standards” does not assure your nor your family’s safety. In fact, our federal safety limits are in essence meaningless when it comes to our health.

The Five Fallacies Of The Electromagnetic Radiation Exposure Limits

Developed by ANSI, IEEE and by ICNIRP in association with industry and military organizations, the existing exposure limits are based on these five false assumptions:

Ebay / Myer’s new virtual reality shopping store ignores possible eye damage to the user
emfacts.com, 20 May 2016

In a world’s first partnership between Ebay and Myer’s department store a virtual reality shopping mall now allows the user to access to thousands of items simply by downloading the eBay Virtual Reality Department Store app on their smart phone. What is also required is a foldout smart phone holder headset (called SHOPTICALS) for your phone which allows you to place the phone immediately in front of your eyes and start shopping.

As clearly seen, this places the smart phone about 2 inches from the user’s eyes, which will be exposing the eyes to the phone’s light and microwave emissions when using the headset. This should be of concern to both Ebay and Myer, not only because it might harm their customers but also because of the existing evidence (see below) that their technology poses a possible risk of eye damage to the user. If this turns out to be the case it exposes these corporations to a class-action litigation risk.

Why There Can Be No Increase in All Brain Cancers Tied with Cell Phone Use

The type of brain cancer increased by cell phones is glioblastomas. Glioblastomas are in fact increasing, as exemplified in those age 35-39 in the United States, in precisely those parts of the brain that absorb most of the microwave radiation emitted or received by phones.

Why there can be no increase in all brain cancers tied with cell phone useby Devra Davis, Anthony B. Miller, and
L. Lloyd Morgan, blog.oup.com,
16 May 2016

Several widely circulated opinion pieces assert that because there is no detectable increase in all types of brain cancers in Australia in the past three decades, cell phones do not have any impact on the disease. There are three basic reasons why this conclusion is wrong.

First of all, the type of brain cancer increased by cell phones is glioblastomas. Glioblastomas are in fact increasing, as exemplified in those age 35-39 in the United States, in precisely those parts of the brain that absorb most of the microwave radiation emitted or received by phones. But this increased trend in glioblastomas of the frontal and temporal lobes and cerebellum is not evident when all brain cancers are considered.

Should Cellphones Have Warning Labels?

Should Cellphones Have Warning Labels?
The Wall Street Journal, 22 May 2016

Supporters of warnings say consumers should be alerted to phones’ possible risks. Opponents say the risk, if any, is not great enough to warrant it.

We press them against our ears every day, often for hours. We carry them around with us in our pockets, front, rear and breast.

In short, we do lots of things with our cellphones that we’re not supposed to do, according to the warnings and instructions for proper use that typically come with these products in one form or another.

For now, how seriously one takes warnings about possible risks associated with radio-frequency waves emitted by cellphones largely depends on whether one believes the many studies that suggest there are links to risks of cancer or other ill effects, or the many studies that suggest there is no proof of such risks.

Whatever studies one believes, some concerned observers believe that cellphone companies should make a more assertive effort to warn consumers of the possibilities of such risks. And one way to do that, these advocates say, is with a clearly printed label on the outside of the device.

IQUITOS, PERU—Saying he was trying not to think about how awful the next few days would be, master ayahuasca shaman Piero Salazar expressed his sense of dread Tuesday as he confirmed his week would once again be spent guiding American tech CEOs to spiritual oneness.

Speaking to reporters, the practitioner of ancient South American religious rituals involving the hallucinogenic ayahuasca plant explained that, while he was ordinarily happy to share his culture’s spiritual wisdom with others, the constant stream of wealthy Silicon Valley executives seeking transcendental enlightenment had become an increasingly loathsome and disheartening part of his occupation.

SEOUL (AFP) - Dozens of people in one of the world's most wired nations on Sunday (May 22) took part in South Korea's "space-out" competition aimed at promoting a life free from stress and information overload.

About 60 contestants spent 90 minutes sitting in a public park in Seoul without talking, sleeping, eating, or using any electronic devices during the event - under the slogan of "Relax Your Brain".

The "space-out" competition was launched by local activists in 2014.

Sunday's event - organised by the Seoul city council - drew more than 1,500 online applicants who vied for the available places in the competition.

"Let our brain - never free from information overload from a smartphone, TV or computer - relax! Let's enjoy just thinking nothing!" the council said in a statement.

conventional salmon.  (Supplied by AqauBounty)
The first genetically modified food animal has been approved for sale in Canada.

At a news conference in Ottawa on Thursday, Health Canada and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced AquaBounty's genetically modified salmon has been approved for sale as food in Canada. AquaBounty said it will be at least a year before the salmon will be available in stores.

A final round of thorough and rigorous Canadian scientific reviews found that AquAdvantage Salmon is as safe and nutritious as conventional salmon, according to technical briefing documents provided by Health Canada.

The same conclusion was reached by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2010, but it took until November 2015 for the agency to approve the fish for sale as food in that country. That decision is being challenged by a group of environmental, consumer, and commercial and recreational fishing organizations.

How Smartphone Light Affects Your Brain and Body

How Smartphone Light Affects Your Brain & Body (Infographic)
by Arjun Walia, collective-evolution.com, 21 May 2016

You might not know this, but your smartphone emits a bright blue light which allows you to read what’s on the screen even during the brightest points of the day. But the light doesn’t turn off or adjust according to the hour of the day; it’s continually emitted, not only by our smartphones, but by our laptops, televisions, and other devices as well. The problem is that this light, which mimics the brightness of the sun, confuses your brain into thinking it’s daytime, even during the dead of night. This in turn stops your brain from releasing melatonin, the hormone which induces sleep, and prevents you from falling asleep. This is why experts recommend to turn off all screens at least two hours before bed.

‘Godspot’: German Christians to provide free wi-fi in every Protestant church
rt.com, 22 May 2016

In what will probably seem like manna from heaven to Wi-Fi starved Germans and tourists, free internet will soon be installed at Protestant churches around Berlin, in a move that will coincide with the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s Reformation. The Protestant Church of Berlin, Brandenburg and Silesian Oberlausitz will soon be offering free internet hotspots, or “Godspots,” to anyone near their churches in Berlin and the surrounding area in order to expand people’s access to information on the fly.

“People are no less spiritual than before. But the places of communication have shifted – a lot takes place in digital social networks and communities. With Godspot we want to build a Protestant Church that’s a safe and familiar abode in the digital world,”Fabian Kraetschmer, the church’s regional IT administrator, told Deutsche Welle in explaining the reason for the initiative.

New York Bill Would Allow People to Opt Out of Smart Meters

UPDATE (27 May 2016):
A second New York Assembly committee has passed a bill that would allow customers to opt out of installing “smart meter” technology on their homes and businesses. Final passage of this bill would allow New Yorkers to protect their own privacy, and it would take a step toward blocking a federal program in effect.

"Opting out follows a strategy James Madison advised in Federalist #46. “Refusal to cooperate with officers of the Union” provides a powerful means to fight back against government overreach. Such actions in multiple states would likely be effective in bringing down federal smart meter programs."

New York Bill Would Allow People to Opt Out of Smart Meters; Undermine Federal Program
by Michael Boldin, offnow.org, 18 May 2016

ALBANY, N.Y. (May 18, 2016) – A bill working its way through the New York legislature would allow customers to opt out of installing “smart meter” technology on their homes and businesses. Passage of this bill would allow New Yorkers to protect their own privacy, and it would take a step towards blocking a federal program in effect.

Asm. Michael DenDekker (D – East Elmhurst), along with a bipartisan coalition of four cosponsors, introduced Assembly Bill 4364 (A4354) in January. The legislation would allow New Yorkers to opt out of any utility company smart meter program with no penalty.

The Assembly Energy Committee passed the bill on April 28. It now moves on to the Ways and Means Committee for further consideration.

California: Vaccines Now Mandatory - Strict Penalties for Anyone Who Refuses

Vaccines Now Mandatory in California — Strict Penalties for ANYONE Who Refuses
healthmagazine365.com, 17 May 2016

I “wonder” why the mainstream media has NOTHING to say about this??

Sad to say, but it’s happening. California has recently become the first state in America to mandate vaccines without any exemptions, including religious or otherwise.

On June 30, 2015 Governor Brown signed SB 277 which prevents personal and religious belief exemptions for child vaccinations in California, effective July 1, 2016.

According to SB277.org;

“Families that do not comply with the one-size-fits-all vaccine mandate, will lose their State Constitutional right for a free and appropriate education in public and private K-12 schools. The use of licensed daycare facilities, in-home daycare, public or private preschools and even after school care programs are also included in SB 277. School aged children, not up-to-date on every mandated vaccine, will be required to home school without options for classroom learning. SB 277 eliminates a parent’s right to exempt their children from one, some, or all vaccines, a risk-laden medical procedure including death. In 2016, California parents will be forced to give their children more than 40 doses of 10 federally recommended vaccines. This open-ended vaccine mandate allows the State of California to add any additional vaccines they deem necessary at anytime. The only exemption available is a medical exemption that doctors deny to 99.99 percent of children under federal guidelines.”

Irish Group R.E.G.R.E.T. Calls Out Gardasil Propaganda

Irish Group R.E.G.R.E.T. Calls Out Gardasil Propaganda
Posted on May 20, 2016 by Thinking Moms' Revolution

Anna Cannon wrote the letter which follows on behalf of the parents and girls of R.E.G.R.E.T, in response to a pro-HPV vaccine article published on 15 May 2016 by The Irish Times. The Irish group R.E.G.R.E.T. (Reactions and Effects of Gardasil Resulting in Extreme Trauma) was established by parents of girls who have been seriously harmed by the HPV vaccination.

Dear Editor,

Dr Jacky Jones, in her column “Why are vaccines, like the HPV vaccination, getting bad press?” (17 May) makes a sweeping dismissal of the real-life experience of those represented by R.E.G.R.E.T — a parent-led organisation formed in response to the chronic degeneration of health experienced by our daughters in the aftermath of the HPV vaccination. Instead, in an article that claims “the science is overwhelmingly in favour of . . . the HPV vaccine”, she links the bad press to an unsubstantiated “hidden agenda” based, bizarrely, on backward sexual mores. We are a support group set up in May 2015 and now, sadly, represent 350 girls who have suffered severe, long term effects following the HPV vaccination, which is routinely administered now to girls at age 12.

This represents a statistic of 1 in 600 of those in Ireland who receive the vaccine. These 350 cases of previously healthy and vibrant adolescents are only those that have registered with R.E.G.R.E.T., we are aware that there may be many others. Considering our parents regretted consent to their daughters receiving the HPV vaccination, the claim that we should be opposed to it for religious reasons or other, is nothing but ridiculous.

Nurse Whistleblower: Hospitals Vaccinating Patients by Force Without Their Knowledge

New consent forms for hospital services include vaccines, but patients are unaware they are granting such consent, as vaccines are disguised under the term, "biogenics", meaning that the hospital can give you anything that they deem necessary including vaccines.

The momentum, consciousness and continual discussion around truth and education related to vaccine injury has never been greater. Parents and communities have taken the initiative to find answers for their sons and daughters who’ve suffered severe adverse events from immunization.

Evaporating fast are the days of dead end solutions and pharmaceutical answers provided by mainstream medicine’s limited toolbox. Like an untamable ripple effect, this awakening has also encompassed the discussion around mandatory vaccination, lack of informed consent, pharmaceutical control of American healthcare and an overall lack of health freedom currently resting on a slippery slope.

United Kingdom: Landowners Face Compulsory Purchase Orders to Improve Mobile Coverage

mobile masts.
Landowners face compulsory purchase orders to improve mobile coverage
by Christopher Williams, chief business correspondent, The Telegraph, 17 May 2016

Land owners who refuse to allow mobile masts on their land face compulsory purchase orders at market rates, under new laws due to be announced in the Queen’s Speech.

The changes are designed by the Government to encourage investment in network improvements, amid concern that the uncertain cost of building new masts is holding back coverage.

Under the new rules, mobile operators and independent mast owners such as Arqiva and Wireless Infrastructure Group, will be able to apply to the courts to force land owners to sell space for a mast at the same price any other buyer would pay.
